Opportunities for shark research in the Bahamas, Fall 2004 through 2005.

 Volunteer positions at the Bimini Biological Field Station, Sharklab will
be available starting August 15, 2004 and continuing through 2005.  The
Bimini Biological Field Station in collaboration with marine biologists from
Drexel Institute of Technology, University of West Florida and The Field
Museum (Chicago) will be conducting field research under grants from the
National Fish And Wildlife Foundation and National Sea Grant on aspects of
essential fish habitat for a shark nursery, including telemetry-tracking,
GIS mapping and behavioral ecology of the lemon shark.  A third, continuing
project concerning the genetics of breeding biology will involve intensive
tagging and collection of DNA from lemon sharks born at Bimini lagoon, Atol
das Rocas Brazil and the Marquesas Keys, Florida.  Please visit our updated
